28 Weeks 3D Ultrasound
I was invited by Philips to be their ‘model’ for live 3D ultrasound scans in the 15th World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
At 28 weeks the baby is just in the right stage for this type of scans – he’s gaining fat and muscles, so he looks cute and baby like, and there’s still enough fluids around him so that the ultrasound is 'working well'. He was also in an excellent position and was kind enough to take his hands off his face and made all sorts of very cute faces.
It seems he grew up quite nicely since the last ultrasound. We even saw him open his eyes, and we could see he’s growing some hair on his head. We had few Doctors scanning the baby’s heart, brain, bones and what not, which was like getting a second third and forth opinion about his well being – which was infact very reassuring.
Since he was so well behaved ;-) and so beautiful we were invited to come back the next day too.
We’ve got all the materials from the scans, so we have all sorts of 2D and 3D ultrasound photos as well as some 4D ultrasound files (the 4th dimension is time, thus, a 4D ultrasound is a 3D ultrasound movie).
