This "Afternoon for Moms & Moms-to-Be", At the Roundhouse Community Center sounded like a good opportunity to get to know the all the local baby stuff we will need soon. I even dragged my husband to come with me.This is what it was supposed to be:"Join women (& other dads too!) from your community as we share our experience and expertise on motherhood, from conception and pregnancy to mom, baby and health. It will be an afternoon filled with pre- and postnatal exercise demos, community resources, “baby stuff” vendors, entertainment, snacks, refreshments and door prizes! Come with your questions and enjoy an afternoon of baby talk and more! Babes, dads and other family members are welcome!"Unfortunately it turned out to be a waste of time, there were few vendors, but there was also a very loud live music that made it impossible to talk to anyone.We strolled through all the vendors and ended up the affair in 5 minutes.

Nutrition wise:
I'm trying to be more aware to what I eat (and drink), being a vegetarian, I'm pretty sure I'm getting the daily recommendation of "5 servings of Vegetables and Fruit".
However I'm not too sure about all the other stuff - taking PregVit pretty much covers any nutritional gaps my lifestyle choices might be creating.
I also took a cut on caffeine and diet drinks.
Ultrasound 6 weeks and 4 days $20 CAD
Had Ultrasound on day 47, which is 6 weeks and 4 days. The Ultrasound is free (covered by MSP), having the baby's picture printed is $20 CAD (Which goes to some kind of charity - so it's all good)It has heartbeat.

I'm Pregnant
To cut a long story short:
Negative HPT early morning on day 29 - went to Whistler (snowboarding) - wanted to know if I should take it easy...
Week goes by - terrible cramps - almost every day - still no period...
hCG Blood test on day 35.
No news from my FP - who said: "don't call us we will let you know..."
Went to Cypress (snowboarding again) on Day 41 - Just as we came back - phone call from the FP clinic - would like to see me to discuss the results.
Sleepless night.
Finally - Positive hCG Blood test result on day 42.
Prepregnancy Genetic Screening $1,500 CAD
There are many reasons to go through Prepregnancy genetic screening.
Ignorance is a bliss, but being aware of the possibilities made going through this process unavoidable.
Genetic consultation and screening in Vancouver is done at the Human Genetic Department of BC's Children & Women's Hospital.
I got a referral from my FP.
If you plan on getting pregnant - waiting time is 3 months.
They will see you immediately if you are pregnant.
We tested negative for all conditions that were tested - Cheers.
